Sound In Virtual Space
This project is an exploration of sound’s reproduction, creation and manipulation in a virtual environment.Virtual reality presents a fundamental change in sound and how it can be used when the listener is moving. Unlike traditional ͞stereophonic͟ sound, head-tracking allows us to change what a listener hears based on where they are facing and where they are in the room, revealing a new ͞canvas͟ for sound in 3 dimensional space. Sound can also be represented visually in new ways, and manipulated in real-time within the virtual environment. ͞Sound in Virtual Space͟ presents the work of students learning 3D graphics and computer technology at El Camino Real Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
