Artist Bio
Cory Metcalf is a new media artist and educator specializing in real­time generative techniques and creative coding. His work explores the sublime space between the novel and the familiar and can manifest as live performances, installations, or discrete objects. Seeking to discover new forms of experience while calling on the deep­seated archetypes in the human mind, Metcalf’s abstract sonic and visual works are both enchanting and haunting, meditative and alarming. For over a decade he has been in close collaboration with NoiseFold co­founder, David Stout. The group has received numerous international commissions, residencies and awards, and have exhibited their installations and performances in wide ranging contexts.
